The Holy Family Primary school is one of 6 feeder school partners
of St Bede’s. The OFSTED Inspector reported that St. Bede’s is 'a
very special place with a committed and dedicated staff', 'a good
school with several outstanding features'. In their judgements, of
twenty six key aspects of the school's work, seven gained the elusive
'outstanding' with the remaining nineteen judged as 'good'.
They commented that school’s strong Catholic ethos is reflected in
its ‘focus on care for each other’. The students’ spiritual, moral,
social and cultural development was deemed ‘excellent’ with Mass and
assemblies providing greatly valued opportunities for worship and
reflection.
They also recognised the school’s business and enterprise specialist
status and Saint Bede's became the only school community in the country
to be involved as a finalist of the Ł1 million Big Green Challenge.
The competition ran from September 2008 until October 2009 and during
the year, the work of the school attracted significant local and national
attention and support, receiving the personal endorsements of the
Prime Minister. |
